The Henry Charles Commonwealth Cup launches worldwide

On 12 October 2024, the Henry Charles Commonwealth Cup launched simultaneously in Saint Lucia and the United Kingdom. Grassroots teams played friendly matches at the National Indoor Court in Gros Islet, while an 11-a-side match kicked off at Bromley Football Club in South East London, linked live to the Saint Lucia celebrations. Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, endorsed the tournament and invited the Castries East community — where Dr. Charles grew up — to take part. UNICEF’s Suzette Moses-Burton called it “a fitting tribute to the life and legacy of Dr Henry Charles.”
